Katherine M. Hoggan Purrington Obituary (1925 - 2003)

KATHERINE M. HOGGAN PURRINGTON ROY -- Katherine M. Hoggan Purrington, our loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister, passed away in the presence of family members on Friday, June 27, 2003 at the age of 78, following an extended illness. Katherine was a gracious lady with a warm smile, a great sense of humor and a charitable heart. She will be greatly missed by her family. She was born March 31, 1925, the daughter of Arthur E. and Bertha Warner Hoggan. She married Gordon Wayne Purrington, April 20, 1944 in the Salt Lake Temple; he died March 14, 1988. Katherine was a faithful member of the LDS Church and actively served in the Primary, Relief Society, and Sunday School organizations. She enjoyed temple work, church service, family gatherings, gardening, reading, drawing, music, sewing, the outdoors and nature. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, and grandsons, Kevin Howell and Matt Judkins. Surviving are 2 sons and 4 daughters: Kathy (Dave) Hohenshild, West Point, Gayleen (Michael) McPolin, Roy, Gary (Diane) Purrington and Lenny (Carolee) Purrington, Pocatello, Bonnie (Kenny) Hollis, North Ogden, and Sheri (Scott) Judkins, Farr West; a brother, A. Edmond (Ruth) Hoggan; 15 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. The family wishes to extend a special thanks to the Manor Care, the LDS Branch, and Vista Care Hospice personnel for the compassionate care they provided to Katherine.
