Kathie Jean Hunter Obituary (1947 - 2016)

1947 ~ 2016 Kathie Jean Walker Hunter Kathie Jean received a mission call to her heavenly home on May 23, 2016, at the young age of 69. With the promise of the reuniting of loved ones gone ahead including her parents, Donald and Carma Walker and sister Carma Lee Loader, she peacefully joined them. She was surrounded by her family. Kathie was born and raised in the Salt Lake Valley and graduated from Murray High School in 1965. She was able to travel the world when her former spouse, Samuel L. Hunter (deceased) joined the Army. She made a home for her family in many places including Utah, Alabama, North Carolina, California, Washington, Germany, and Texas. She resided in Clearfield, Utah for the last 10 years of her life. Kathie found her greatest joy in spending time with her family. She looked forward to the gathering of her family each month for dessert night. She cherished the times she was able to visit her children who lived out of state. Her love for her family will be forever felt. Her second greatest joy was the gospel of Jesus Christ and she remained faithful to the end. She was able to serve in countless callings and made many close friends. Kathie had an amazing artistic talent and her many paintings are treasured by her family. She also enjoyed gardening, music and reading. She was a friend to everyone, especially those in need of a friend. As a tribute to this wonderful woman, her 6 children, 13 grandchildren and 1 great granddaughter stand united to honor her passing. Her children include Heidi Rae (Robert) Sanders, Hollie Holley, Lafe (Deneice) Hunter, Leigh (Amy) Hunter, Hannah (Nick) Arendtsen, Hykel (Aaron) Eiche. Her grandchildren include Jazmyne, Jaquoya, Jamayka, Lauren, Lydia, Lance, Joshua, Ian, Kaleb, Braden, Skyler, Dustin, Isabel and Eden. She leaves behind 6 siblings, Steve (Pam) Walker, Wendy (Mike) Nelson, Marc (Lonnita) Walker, Laurel (Bruce) Bushman, Kay (Don-deceased) Clayton, Sharlene (Ron) Rausch. Also many nieces, nephews, cousins and other extended family members. Her family would like to express deep appreciation for the kindness of the staff from Summit Home Health, especially Nurse Jenny. Visitation will be held Friday, June 3, from 6 pm - 8 pm at Myers Mortuary, 250 N. Fairfield, Layton. Funeral service will be held Saturday, June 4 at 11:00 am at the LDS Clearfield 2nd Ward, 1245 South 1175 East, Clearfield with a viewing prior at 9:30 am.
