Lance Paul Krebs

–

Farr West, Utah

Lance Paul Krebs passed away peacefully on Thursday, August 20th, 2026, at the age of 66.

He was born on October 29th, 1959, in Ogden, Utah, to Jess S. Krebs and Kerma Rowcliffe. He was the youngest of six children. He grew up in South Ogden and graduated from Bonneville High School. He overcame great difficulties during his childhood and teenage years, having a mother who was terminally ill.

Lance went on to serve a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the New York, New York City Mission. This resulted in a strong conviction in the gospel of Jesus Christ, and he was a faithful member all his life. Upon his return, he married his high school sweetheart, Valerie Hutzley, in the Ogden Temple. He graduated from Weber State in electronic engineering and spent most of his career as an engineer in the aerospace industry at Thiokol. His job there began right at the great push to build a new generation of rocket boosters after the Challenger disaster. Later in his career, he worked as a contract engineer at Hill Air Force Base authoring and editing aircraft maintenance technical documents where he was known for his careful attention to detail. He received many awards for his work over the years and excelled in his endeavors.

He enjoyed coaching youth soccer, running in 5K races, reading calculus books and working problems, just for fun!

Lance served faithfully in a variety of callings as a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints throughout his life, including being the ward clerk in multiple bishoprics, a counselor in a bishopric, and a counselor in the high priest’s group. He was a faithful home teacher serving as senior companion with his sons. Lance particularly loved serving as a ward nursery leader.

Lance and Valerie raised five amazing children. Four sons and one daughter. Jacob and (Elissa), Kyle and (Chatana), Travis and (Emma), Heidi and (Corbin Andersen), Dallin and (Alison). He also has sixteen wonderful grandchildren.

Lance is also survived by his brother John and (Tami), sisters: Claudia Mazza, Korinne and (Blaine Mauchley), Helen and (Mark Henderson), and LaMont Camp (brother-in-law). Preceding him in death are his parents, his sister Cheryl Camp, and brother-in-law Tony Mazza.

Great thanks go to the dedicated and kind workers at DayBreak respite care for loving him and giving his wife respite time. Also, to all the staff at Sunflower Assisted Living whose angel caregivers provided loving care to him during his final weeks.

A visitation will take place Friday, August 28th, 2026 at the Farr West Poplar Stake Center from 6-8 PM. The funeral will be Saturday, August 29 th also at the Stake Center located at 1745 N. 2300 W., Farr West, UT at 11:00 AM. A short visitation will precede the funeral from 10:00 to 10:45 AM.
