Leda June Dunn Shurtleff Obituary (1923 - 2003)

LEDA JUNE DUNN SHURTLEFF SUNSET - Leda June Dunn Shurtleff, 80, passed away Sunday, June 15, 2003 at McKay Dee Hospital. She was born June 1, 1923 a daughter of Lester Welch and Leda Mathews Dunn. June married Warren Nelson Shurtleff in the Salt Lake Temple on October 12, 1942. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She loved her Heavenly Father and served faithfully in her church callings. She was totally devoted to her husband, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was always there for them and loved them all. All she ever wanted was to be with her family. Never a harsh or unkind word spoken, She was our "special angel". June loved to cook and everyone loved her pies and homemade ice cream. She would never send you on your way empty handed. She loved to share all she had. Surviving are her husband of 60 years Warren Shurtleff, Sunset; three sons and four daughters, Richard W. Shurtleff, Carolyn (Ed) Phelps, Jean (Courtney) Bowen, Darla (Curtis) Weston, Celestia (Kent) Ross, Chuck (Dara) Shurtleff, Tim (Lisa) Shurtleff. Also surviving is one brother, Charles Dunn, 26 grandchildren and 32 great-grandchildren . June was preceded in death by her parents, one brother and two sisters. The family would to thank all the Doctors, Nurses and everyone else who took care of mom while she was at McKay Dee Hospital. She loved and appreciated you for all that you did for her.
