Lou Jean Pickford Jones Obituary (1924 - 2012)

Lou Jean Pickford Jones ROY - Jean Jones, 88 years old, passed away peacefully in her sleep at her home on May 16, 2012. Jean was a loved woman who led a full and happy life with many wonderful family members and great memories. Jean was born April 20, 1924 in North Ogden, Utah. Jean married the love of her life, Cliff B Jones on June 17, 1942 in Ogden, UT. Cliff and Jean were married for 46 years before Cliff passed away. While they were married, Jean and Cliff traveled to many places, played cards, bowled, loved to golf and enjoyed life together. They lived in Ogden and St George. In the last several years, Jean was able to move to Roy to be closer to her family and her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. If someone was to describe Jean they would say she was classy and vivacious. Anyplace she went someone always stopped to tell her how beautiful her hair was or how nicely she was dressed. She was a woman of many talents. She was an excellent cook, seamstress, painter, and loved to crochet, card player, dancer, and most of all a great grandmother, mother, and wife. Jean's great grandchildren called her "Big" Grandma, which anyone who knew Jean would understand the irony of it. But Jean loved those kids more than anything in the world. She would say everyday that the reason she is here is to love her Grandchildren. And they loved her too. Jean was the type of person that would be there for you and you could count on. Jean is preceded in Death by her husband, Cliff B Jones, son, Rick Lee Jones, and granddaughter, Cindy Houskeeper. Surviving are Jean's children; Cliff Gary Jones (Barbara) of Lake Ariel PA, Jan Houskeeper of Roy, UT; her grandchildren, Kris Kind (D.J.), Carrie Teyssier (Matt), Leann Neering (Chris), Teri Houskeeper Smith, Cliff Keith Jones (Cindy), and Diana Miller. Jean also has 13 great-grandchildren, and 6 great-great-grandchildren. Big Grandma will be missed. Graveside services will be held Saturday, May 19, 2012 at 10 a.m. at Memorial Gardens of the Wasatch, 1718 Combe Rd., South Ogden, Utah. Arrangements under the direction of Myers Roy Mortuary.
