Louree A Stevens Obituary (1922 - 2016)

Louree A. Stevens March 23, 1922 - March 6, 2016 Louree A. Stevens of Roy, Utah passed away peacefully in her sleep at Lotus Park Assisted Living in West Haven. She would have been 94 years old this month. She is loved dearly by her family and all who knew her and will be greatly missed. Born to Viola and Gilbert Smith on March 23, 1922 in Beaver, Utah. Graduated from Beaver High in 1940. She did one year post graduate course before eloping with Lyle King Stevens on Sept. 30, 1941 while King was on leave from the army. She worked in a small arms plant during World War II while her husband served in Germany for two years. They then built a home in Roy where they continued to raise their family. Louree retired from IRS in Ogden at 72 years old. Louree later received her Temple endowments at age 89 and was sealed to her sweetheart for Time and All Eternity in the Ogden Utah Temple in 2011. She loved snowmobiling and was a member of the Golden Spike Snowmobile Club. She enjoyed dancing, camping, boating and she was an avid golfer. She loved her weekly Wednesday lunches at Ogden Pizzeria with Pat and Saturday dinners at Dave's. Louree lit up a room when she entered it, she was quick to make friends and enjoyed being surrounded by her many friends and family. She is survived by her son David (Vicki) Stevens of Pleasant View; grandson Casey (Brandy) Stevens (Syracuse), great-grandsons Beckham, Lincoln and Phoenix; grandson Andrew K. Stevens of Layton; her daughter Patsy J. Stevens of Syracuse; granddaughter Lori (Kirk) Allred of Syracuse; great grandchildren Christian (serving LDS Morristown New Jersey mission) and Emma; grandson Fred (Jenny) Larsen of Kaysville; great-grandchildren Jason (serving LDS Ventura, CA mission), Benjamin, Jared, Lydia and Gabriel; granddaughter Lisa (Shaun) Stewart of West Point; great-grandchildren Jaiden and Hannah Hyme. She is preceded in death by her husband Lyle King Stevens, son Lyle G. Stevens, her three brothers and her parents. Graveside Services will be held on Thursday, March 10, 2016, at 11:30 a.m., at Roy City Cemetery 5200 South 2300 West, Roy, Utah. A viewing for family and friends will be held Wednesday, March 9, 2016, from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m., at Myers Roy Mortuary, 5865 South 1900 West, Roy, Utah, and Thursday, March 10, 2016, from 10:00-11:00 a.m. prior to services.
