Marc Clemens

–

Layton, Utah

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Marc Allen Clemens, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend. Born on May 3, 1955 in Lynwood, California, Marc spent his life serving those who knew him in big and small ways. He passed away peacefully on December 17, 2024, and while his physical presence will be missed, his spirit will continue to live on through the lives he touched and the family he fathered.

Marc was a loyal and dedicated man, known for his wit, intelligence, and patience in the workplace. He was a lifelong member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and served in various capacities including as a bishop for over 5 years. His dedication to his faith was evident in his service as a missionary as a young man in the Winnipeg, Canada Mission and later in his life at the Layton Family Search Center. His service reflects his favorite and often quoted scripture, Moses 1:39 - "For this is my work and my glory, to bring to pass the immortality and eternal life of man."

A smart and dedicated electrical engineer by profession, Marc spent his career with L3 Communications, where he was revered by coworkers. He was greatly missed following the traumatic brain injury which made him transition to disability leave and prevented him from continuing his work. He was a certified amateur ham radio operator and enjoyed being part of the Davis County Emergency Response Team. He went by the call sign, KF7MTC, "Marc Tango Charlie", and also enjoyed tuning in to the Alaska Morning Net and Worldwide Friendship Net each day. Marc is survived by his wife Monica Clemens, their children Mathew (Lola) Clemens, Michael (Michelle) Clemens, Mel (Becky) Clemens, Marc Clemens, Miles (Alyssa) Clemens, Molly (Robert) Erickson, Maxwell (Kiely) Clemens, Melissa (Derek) McKinlay, Martin Clemens, and Malachi (Brooke) Clemens, and his mother Lorelie (Norman - deceased) Bybee Clemens. He was preceded in death by his father Norman Clemens and grandson Leroy Clemens.

The viewing will be held on Thursday, December 19, 2024, at 6:00pm MST at Myers Mortuary - Layton, 250 N. Fairfield Drive, Layton, Utah. The funeral service will be conducted on Friday, December 20, 2024, at 11:00am MST at the Kimball Ward Chapel, 125 Chapel Street, Layton, Utah.

We invite those who knew and loved Marc to share their memories and upload photos on his memorial page.
