Mark Douglas Smith

Mark Douglas Smith passed away on Tuesday, Oct. 7, 2008. He was born on Feb 4, 1954 to Robert Q. and Nancy R. Smith in Seattle WA. After his father died in 1965, the family moved to Ogden. Mark graduated from Bonneville High School and attended Dixie College.
In 1976 he married Vicki Ju. They had one daughter, Candice, who died shortly after birth. In 1982 he married Marilyn Hansen and they had his special children, Trevor and Sara. His stepchildren, Annie and Zak were loved like his own.
He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
Mark worked most of his life in construction as an independent contractor mostly installing rain gutter and awnings. He was a hard worker and always did a good job.
He lived with his mother for a time and always was a great help to her, especially after she was widowed eight years ago.
In 2004 he married his best friend, Tracy Steacie. Mark loved to go fishing. He caught some "big ones" and had pictures to share with everyone to prove it.
He was preceded in death by his father and one child.
He is survived by his wife Tracy, children Trevor and Sara, step-children Annie and Zak, his mother Nancy McFarland, two brothers Rick Q. Smith and Steven L. (Marilyn) Smith, 4 grandchildren and 9 nieces and nephews.
This special man will be greatly missed by his family, many friends and the dog, Sarah. God Be With You 'Till We Meet Again.
Funeral services will be held at 11 A.M. Saturday, October 11, 2008 at the Oak Hills Ward Chapel, 1410 East Gentile, Layton, UT.
