Mathel (Suzy) W. Harper click here to listen to Funeral Recording OGDEN - Mathel (Suzy) W. Harper passed away on October 6, 2011 at her home, surrounded by her family. She was born November 2, 1925 in Ogden, Utah to Joseph Earl Wiggins and Goldia Emma Johnson Wiggins. She married Hyrum LeRoy Harper on April 28, 1947. They were married 38 years until his death on January 14, 1985. She lived in California for 8 years and the remainder of the time she lived in Utah. Suzy attended Ogden High School. She was a member of the LDS Church. She was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles #2472 for many years where she served as the sick and visiting chairman and had many friends. She loved going to gamble - anywhere, anytime. She enjoyed her family and the BBQs they had together. She especially loved her grandchildren. The family would like to thank Hospice of Utah for the loving care they provided. Suzy is survived by her children-Julia Jacobs of Ogden and Lee R. Harper of So. Weber; step-son Kent Harper of Texas; 11 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Hyrum; her sisters Lilla and Mona; grandchildren Dana and Angela Harper; and step-son Jack Harper. Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, October 14, 2011, at Myers Mortuary Chapel, 845 Washington Blvd., Ogden, Utah. There will be a viewing on Thursday, the 13th from 6-8 p.m. at the mortuary and again on Friday from 10-10:45 just prior to the service.
