Merriann Winters Simmons Obituary (1950 - 2017)

MerriAnn Winters Simmons 66, passed away on Tuesday, February 21, 2017 at her home with family by her side. MerriAnn was born October 1, 1950 in Brigham City, Utah. A daughter of Ray Winters and Emeline Lola Farber Winters. She attended Roy Jr. High and graduated from Box Elder High School. MerriAnn married Carl Day in Willard, UT; whom she later divorced, then she married Ronald Simmons in Ogden, UT and they were later divorced. MerriAnn is a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She worked as a welder for 30 years for Chromolox. MerriAnn was a supporter of relay for life and the fight against cancer. One of the ways she showed her love for family and friends was to sew, crocheting and making many different items for them. She enjoyed going out country western dancing. Some of her favorite ways to make memories with her grandkids was to prepare food, go camping, and fishing. Her little loves were, her pet dogs Sandy and Missy. Special thanks to her dear friend Dwayne Delquadro for the many hours spent with her and helping her laugh. Surviving are her children: Steven C. Day; Sherri Lee Day; Sheila R. Simmons; seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Also siblings: Ramona Loveland; Dorothy and George Parker, Dorothy Edmonds; Alana Mitchell. Preceded in death by her parents and great-grandson Kosen Harper. Funeral services will be Tuesday, February 28, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at the Willard 1st Ward Chapel, 80 N. 100 W., Willard, UT. A viewing will be Monday from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Myers Mortuary, 205 S. 100 E., Brigham City, UT and on Tuesday from 10:00 to 10:40 a.m. at the Church. Interment will be in the Willard Cemetery.
