Mollene Adams Cottrell Obituary (1957 - 2007)

MOLLENE (MOLLY) ADAMS COTTRELL 7-1-1957 - 7-24-2007 SUNSET - On July 24, 2007, Heavenly Father called our sweet daughter, wife, sister, mother and grandmother home to be with Him and her beloved Grandmothers. Molly was born in Ogden, July 1, 1957 to Tammy Richard and Patricia Frew Adams. She was the first of four children. She attended Ogden City Schools, and was the "hop scotch champion" of Horace Mann Elementary. She graduated from Ben Lomand High School in 1976. "Sugar" married her first and only love John Cottrell on September 6, 1977. They moved to Denver, CO while he pursued his boxing career. Their marriage of 30 years produced three beautiful children, Erika, Kami and Nikolai. Also, John's daughter Monique completed their family. Molly worked at IRS and received many awards for her great ideas and attention to detail. She retired due to her health and to be home with her children. She made her home beautiful and made many gifts for her family and friends. Molly had many talents and was an excellent artist and toll painter. She was an accomplished seamstress and made many school clothes for her kids. They were always dressed perfectly and their hair always in cute styles. Molly was a wonderful cook and taught her sister, daughters and granddaughter the skills of the kitchen. We especially loved her cinnamon rolls. She was a room mother for her children in elementary school and she and John taught a Sunday school class in the West Point 5th Ward. She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Molly was a compassionate person helping anyone in need and always befriending the underdog. Her qualities are described in Proverbs 31. Molly was a loving mother, daughter, wife, sister, and friend, always doing her best. As her health declined, she became homebound never giving up hope for better health. She leaves behind to miss her, her dedicated husband John, her children Erika Cottrell, Kami (Tony) Gutierrez, Nikolai Cottrell and Monique (Al) Walton. Her parents Patricia (Don) Hilton, Tammy (Tricia) Adams, Stepfather Chris (Brenda) Sorensen, two brothers Bret (Katy) Adams, Nick (Taybra) Adams, one sister Natalie (Robb) Westbroek. Her precious grandchildren Ariana, Orion, De'Andre, Demitrius, and Deshaun. Also, many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Graveside services will be held Monday, July 30, 2007 at 1:00 p.m. at the West Point Cemetery, 40 North 4000 West. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Mollene Cottrell at any Zions Bank to help with funeral expenses. We all loved Molly very much and are looking forward to the day when we will all be together again. Booee, Tilly, Wee-Wee, Brother, Beary, and Rye-Rye will miss you always!!
