Noleen Fielding Cox Obituary (1935 - 2006)

Noleen Fielding Cox HOOPER - Through the tender mercies of our Heavenly Father, Noleen Fielding Cox lovingly returned home on Sunday, October 8, 2006, after a courageous fight against cancer. Her first appearance entering this world was June 7, 1935 to Nolan and Elsie Fielding. She was the oldest of five children. With lots of love, fun and enjoyment she was raised and schooled in Hooper, Utah and graduated from Weber High. Noleen married the love of her life Gordon E. Cox in the Salt Lake Temple on June 17, 1954. They were blessed with six children. As a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints she held many church positions, serving in ward and stake Young Women, Primary and Relief Society Presidencies. She worked for many years in the Special Needs Mutual and enjoyed being a temple worker until her illness would no longer allow her to. Through her life she worked with the disabled youth in the Ogden and Weber School District. Later she went to work and retired from the United States Postal Service as a mail carrier. She enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, boating, snowmobiling and for years playing ball, being coached by her father. She found joy in serving her friends, neighbors and strangers, but especially her family. She cherished each teaching moment spent with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren on her "Piece of Heaven on Earth" lovingly named Cox's Corner. She loved life. She is survived and will be deeply missed by her Eternal Sweetheart and children, Sherrie (Alan) Russell, Taylor, Renae (Ron) Sturdevant, Lynette (Bruce) Wilson, Neil (Kathy) Cox, Naleen (Mark) Lee all from Hooper; and Annette Hollingsworth, Ft Worth, TX; 34 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren, Father Nolan Fielding, a brother and three sisters, Lee Nolan Fielding, Shirley (Mike) Stokes, RaeAnn (Kim) Christensen, all of Hooper; and Carol (Pat) McCabe, Shelly, ID. She was welcomed into the next life by her Mother Elsie Fielding and Grandson Jed Russell, Father and Mother-in-law Ervin and Nola Cox. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, October 14, 2006 at 11 a.m. at the Hooper 10th Ward Chapel, 5375 South 5900 West, Hooper, UT. Friends and family may call on Friday at Myers Mortuary in Roy, 5865 South 1900 West from 6 to 8 p.m. and on Saturday at the church from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. prior to services. Interment, Hooper Cemetery.
