O'Etta Carr Burton Obituary (1915 - 2007)

O'Etta Carr Burton ROY - O'Etta C. Burton, 91, passed away Sunday, September 23, 2007 of causes incident to age. She was born on December 7, 1915 the last of ten children to Robert Calvert and Mary Smith Carr in Ogden, Weber County, Utah. She married Francis Christian Burton, on November 11, 1936 in Ogden, Weber County, Utah, which solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple in 1951. She was a loving Mother and Grandmother who blessed many lives with her exquisite handiwork and enjoyed the association of the Roi-Annes. Working as a secretary for the U.S. Forest Service, the railroad, she retired after long service at Hill Air Force Base. As an active member of the LDS Church and enjoyed her many callings, especially as a dance instructor with her husband and many years in the Family History Extraction Program. Surviving her are her sons Francis C. Burton (Helen), Robert E. Burton (Kathy), Michael O. Burton, Richard A. Burton (Paula), daughter Katherine O. Hansen (Roy), 15 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Francis C. Burton, and her eight brothers and a sister. Thanks to the people at Heritage Park Care Center and Country Pines Assisted Facility (to many to name) for their tender care and love for her. Funeral services will be held Thursday, September 27, 2007 at 11 a.m. at Myers Roy Mortuary, 5865 South 1900 West. Friends and family may call on Thursday at the mortuary from 10:00 to 10:45 a.m. prior to services. Interment, Roy City Cemetery.
