Orelene Janell Henderson Mikesell Obituary (1951 - 2009)

LAYTON - Our wife, mother, grandmother and loving friend Orelene Henderson Mikesell passed peacefully from this life as a result of complications of kidney failure at Salt lake Regional Medical Center on the morning of Sunday July 26th, 2009. She was born on May 5, 1951, in Ogden Utah to Orel and Janell Henderson. She grew up in Roy and graduated from Roy High School in 1969. She went on to attend Weber State College. In High School She was an officer in the Pep Club and a member of the Royal Choir and the Honor Society. In 1970 she met the love of her life and her eternal companion Larry B Mikesell. They were married later that year in the Logan Temple on December 18th. After moving to Rexburg Idaho for a period of time they moved back to the Roy area where raised her four children. She spent the last eight years living in Layton Utah. She loved being a Grandma and enjoyed spoiling her three Granddaughters. She will always be their "Angel" Grandma. Orelene was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints where she worked in many callings. She had a special love for the Primary where she was a Chorister, pianist and teacher with her husband. She also taught Sunday School and was a visiting teacher. Orelene worked several Jobs including Hill Field, Matrix, IRS, ZCMI and taught piano. Her last and most fulfilling job was at Get Away Today where she loved helping people book their perfect vacation and made many friends. She was preceded in death by her parents Orel and Janell Henderson and one brother James Henderson. She is survived by her eternal companion and husband Larry Mikesell and her four children Eric Mikesell (Layton), Raegan (Kenny) Wilson (Lehi), Bryan (Michellene) Mikesell (Riverdale) and Jordan Mikesell (Layton). She had three Granddaughters Cambrie Guess, Aspyn Janell and Breckynn McCall Wilson and a Granddaughter on the way Averie Mikesell. She is survived by her two sisters Jean Henderson and Laurel Sharp. She is also survived by several very special friends Susan Goodson, Tanya Fernandes, the Burningham Family and the Jackman Family. The family would like to extend a very special thank you to all of the Doctors and Nurses who cared for Orelene. Including the nursing staff at McKay Dee Hospital in Ogden and the nursing staff The Promise Hospital in Salt Lake City. Thank you for your loving care and friendship. We would also like to thank her other special friends and the members of the Layton Camelot Ward. Graveside services will be held Thursday, July 30, 2009 at 10 a.m. at the Ogden City Cemetery, 20th and Madison Ave, Ogden.
