Osmond Smith Kent Obituary (1916 - 2006)

BRIGHAM CITY - Osmond Smith Kent, 89, passed away April 30, 2006 at Ogden Regional Hospital. Smith was born on August 8, 1916 in Lewiston, Utah a son of Henry Osmond and Flora Burnham Kent. He married Thelma Bott on December 17, 1940 in the Logan Temple. He served three missions in Cebu, Philippines, Bishops Storehouse in Brigham and served as a Temple worker in the Ogden Temple. Served as a Branch President, and in Scouting for 25 years and various other church callings. Surviving are his wife, Thelma, Brigham City; seven children, Roger (Janet) Kent, San Jose, CA; Edith (Richard) Watkins, West Haven; Elbert (Michele) Kent, Brigham City; Barbara (Ken) Pratt, Syracuse; Henry (Diana) Kent, Clinton; Marjean (Brent) Hiatt, Ogden; LaMar (Lisa) Kent, Corinne; 33 grandchildren and 36 great-grandchildren. Also brother, Clarence (Virginia) Kent, sister, Ellen (Odell) Cutler, and sister-in-law, Polly Kent. Preceded in death by his parents, sister, Amy, brothers, Don and Wayne, son-in-law Marlow Rytting, grandchildren, LaChelle, Jason, and a great-grandson, William. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, May 6, 2006 at 10:00 a.m. at the Brigham City Stake Center Chapel, 650 Anderson Dr., Brigham City. Friends may call on Friday from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Myers Mortuary, 205 S. 100 E., Brigham City, and on Saturday from 9:00 to 9:40 a.m. at the Church. Interment will be in the Brigham City Cemetery.
