Patricia Elaine Heninger Hopkin Obituary (1940 - 2014)

Patricia Elaine Heninger Hopkin Our dear Wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and Disney enthusiast, passed away peacefully Monday, February 24, 2014, at McKay Dee Hospital. Pat was born to Earl S. Heninger and Juanita J. Siddoway on November 22, 1940, in Ogden. She attended Weber County Schools and graduated Ogden High School in 1958. She married her husband of 46 years, Eugene Hopkin on November 10, 1967. They were sealed in 1976 in the Ogden LDS temple. A dedicated homemaker, Aunt Pat loved spending time with family and grandchildren and whenever possible nothing compared to spending time with family and Mickey at Disneyland She is survived by her husband; one son, Gregory Gene Hopkin - San Francisco; daughter, Julie Ann Henrie (Kevin) - Ogden; grandchildren, Adam, Taler, and Mattie Henrie, and great grandson Copeland Henrie all of Ogden; two sisters, Shirley Pewtress - Perry, Carole Thompson (Brent) - Harrisville; sister in law Anne Heninger - N. Ogden, and many extended friends and family members including beloved cousins, a step sister, and step brothers. She was preceded in death by one son, Brian Roy Hopkin; her parents; one brother, Earl H. Heninger; step mother, Fern Poll; brother in law, Donald Pewtress and friends and family too many to list who she missed dearly. A huge thank you to all of the friends and family who called on Pat often to offer the precious gifts of support and laughter. Special thanks to surgeons Dr. Joseph L. Hatch and Dr. Maureen Lundergan for helping to provide the gift of eyesight, and to the staff and nurses of Pineview Rehabilitation, Manor Care, Crestwood Care Center, Hearts for Home, McKay Dee Hospital, and her sweet husband for their specialized and tender care. As a final gift from her tired body, Pat donated her eyes to the Moran Eye Center to continue the legacy of which she was a grateful beneficiary. A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, March 1, 2014 at Myers Ogden Mortuary, 845 Washington Blvd, where family and friends may call from 11:45 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. prior to the service Cremation services conducted by Myers Mortuary.
