Rollo Wayment Obituary (1925 - 2012)

Rollo Wayment Ogden - Rollo Wayment, 87, passed away on December 18, 2012. He was born April, 11, 1925 in Warren, Utah to Ada Mae Rose and Cornelius Wayment. Rollo served in the U.S. Navy aboard the USS Saratoga as a Gunner's Mate during WW II from February 1944 until his discharge in May 1946. He served in the South Pacific at the Battle of Midway and Iwo Jima. He ran the family farm from 1949 to 1959. He worked 39 years in the construction trade, retiring in 1989 as a superintendent for Big-D Construction Company. He is a member of the LDS Church. He enjoyed gardening and received many awards including the Ogden Mayor's Award for his garden; he also enjoyed traveling. He is well known for his meticulous yard and garden. He has devoted much of his life to helping neighbors, friends, and family with many various construction and home improvement projects. He married Evelyn Saxton on November 1, 1947; they divorced in 1963. Together they had six children. He married Genevieve Twitchell on Feb. 25, 1983; she preceded him in death in 2008; he was also preceded in death by his daughter, Kristine Wayment and granddaughter, Marie Datson. Rollo is survived by his children, Steven R. (Norine) of Garland, David R. of Perry, Bryan S. (Linda) of Clinton, Lynnette "Lynne" Harris of Midvale and Craig N. of AZ; two stepchildren, Roger (Kara) Twitchell and Tami Twitchell; also 24 grandchildren; 57 great-grandchildren; 11 great-great-grandchildren plus 4 step-grandchildren and 6 step-great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, Dec. 21, 2012 at Myers Ogden Mortuary, 845 Washington Blvd. A viewing will be held on Thursday, Dec. 20th from 6 to 8 p.m. and prior to the service from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. Interment will be at the Warren City Cemetery.
