Sophie Avalos Dominguez Obituary (1920 - 2010)

Sophie Dominguez Ogden - Our loving mother and grandmother, Sophie Avalos Dominguez joined her Heavenly Father and loved ones that have passed on April 1, 2010 in Ogden. She was born December 2, 1920 in Smelter, Texas to Victor and Antonia Martinez Avalos. Sophie married Tom A. Dominguez in Ogden, they were married for 74 years. Tom passed away April 28, 1999. Sophie was a member of the Catholic Church and whenever she won big in Wendover she always donated to the Church. She enjoyed cooking, crocheting, going to Wendover and working in her garden. She loved the holidays and her huge family she helped raised. Sophie is survived by her children, Florence (Raymond) Quintana, Victor (Mary) Dominguez, Lucy (Jerry) Arguello, Suesan D. Valdez; three granddaughters whom she raised, Terry (David) Jaeger, Bonnie Graham and Jerina Lierd; 26 grandchildren; 65 great-grandchildren and 17 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son Louie; daughter Louise; sisters and brothers; one granddaughter and two great-great-granddaughters. Funeral Mass will be held at St. James Catholic Church, 465 No. Harrison on Thursday, April 8, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. Friends may call at Myers Ogden Mortuary, 845 Washington Blvd. on Wednesday, April 7th from 6 to 8 pm; with a Rosary at 7 pm.
