Sonoma Snow Wilson Obituary (1916 - 2009)

BRIGHAM CITY - Sonoma Snow Wilson, age 92 passed away Friday, February 27, 2009 at Country Lane Assisted Living. Sonoma was born Match 13 1916, to Robert Knox Snow and Mildred Emma Michaelis. She married Quinton James Wilson June 6, 1940. They later had their marriage solemnized in the Logan Temple on November 11, 1957. Sonoma was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She held many Ward and Stake positions. She worked as a professional secretary for Box Elder County Welfare Office, the Bureau of Land Management, Selective Service, Intermountain Indian School, and Bear River Bird Refuge Research Center under Dr. Wayne Jensen known for his avian botulism research. She drafted a paper published by the United States Fish and Wildlife Service accepted into the Library of Congress. She enjoyed her association with Tops, DUP, many local and civic organizations. Her favorite things in life were spending time with her family and friends, traveling with her sisters and serving the Lord doing Temple work as an ordinance worker and a frequent visitor. She also served in the extraction program for many years. She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers: Russell, Aaron and Lloyd, six sisters: Dorothy, Dora, June, Bonnie, Wanda and Ruth, her husband, Quinton Wilson and a grandson, Brett Wilson. She is survived by her loving sons: Q. Ford (Edie) and Robert K. (Marsha), 11 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren, two brothers: Jerry and Max, and three sisters: Tess, Kirma and Colleen and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, March 3, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. at Myers Mortuary Chapel, 205 S. 100 E., Brigham City. Friends may call on Monday from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. and on Tuesday, from 10:00 to 10:40 a.m. at the Mortuary. Interment will be in the Brigham City Cemetery. The family would like to thank Country Lane Assisted Living staff and administration for their loving and kind service to her and to Alpine Hospice for helping and serving her at the end.
