Shirlee Nabor Korth Obituary (1932 - 2012)

Shirlee Nabor Korth Washington Terrace - Shirlee Nabor Korth, 79, passed away peacefully, returning home to her Heavenly Father, on Monday January 23, 2012. She was born on August 16, 1932 to Eugene Youngdale and Lucille Jentzsch Youngdale in San Diego, California. She lived in many states with her parents and siblings including Hawaii but mainly in Utah. She graduated from Davis High School at the age of 16. She welcomed her daughter Charleen and her son Larry a few years later with her first husband Allen Scoffield (deceased). She graduated from Darrell's Beauty School College shortly thereafter in Salt Lake City, Utah. She practiced her trade as a Beautician for 37 years. She was briefly married a second time to Peter T. Nabor (deceased). Shirlee met and married the love of her life Richard (Dick) Korth in Elko, Nevada on November 16, 1987. Shirlee and Dick made their home in Ogden, Utah. They enjoyed traveling together on their Yamaha motorcycle. They renewed their vows on April 22, 1995 and continued their travels across the country and to Canada in Dick's eighteen wheeler before retiring in Washington Terrace. Shirlee enjoyed gardening, painting, sewing, knitting, playing the organ and writing. She was known for her beautiful handmade quilts, dolls and her skill as a seamstress. She gave of her talents in many ways including to her church, St. Paul's Lutheran in Ogden, Utah, where she handmade and gifted the alter linens and hangings. Shirlee had a deep and abiding love for her savior the Lord Jesus Christ and was a long time member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church of Ogden, Utah where she was the alter guild for over 12 years. Her greatest joy in life was her husband Dick and her love of all her family, her daughter Charleen and her son Larry. She is survived by her husband Richard (Dick) Korth, her daughter Charleen Scoffield, Son Larry (Ellen) Scoffield, daughter, Tracy (Ron) Conger, Son Rick (Patti) Korth. She is also survived by her sisters, Caroline Miller and Shirley Youngdale. Her Grandchildren; David, Emily, Annie, Aaron, Darcy, Tanner and her 18 Great Grandchildren. Her niece Susan (Keith) Clifton, and nephews Sam (Maryellen) Carr, Lucas (Sandy) Carr, Eugene (Cheryl) Carr and great nieces Emily, Patricia, Amy and Taylor. Memorial Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday January 28, 2012 at St. Paul's Lutheran Church 3319 Harrison Blvd., Ogden, Utah. A private service will be held later for internment at Evergreen Memorial Park.
