Shizuko Kano Obituary (1924 - 2008)

Shizuko Kano BRIGHAM CITY AAA 1/2 Shizuko Kano, 83, passed away on Wednesday, August 13, 2008 at Brigham City Hospital. Shizuko was born in Long Beach, California on December 4, 1924 a daughter of Kiichi and Koto Hanami. Shizuko married Hiroyuki Kano on March 22, 1952 in the Ogden, Utah Buddhist Temple. She was a member of the Corinne and Honeyville Buddhist church, and was a member of the Honeyville Fujin-Kai. Shizuko was a devoted wife and mother, a wonderful grandmother and loving grandma grape. She is survived by her husband, her son, Stanley (Ronda) Kano of Brigham City, 5 grandchildren; Charles (Kristi) Kano, Kimie Kano, Meri (James) Thomas, Andrew (Maranda) Kano, Jonathan Kano, and her brother Jiro (Aiko) Hanami of Los Angeles, CA. Preceded in death by her parents, and brother Teruki Hanami. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, August 16, 2008 at 11:00 at Myers Mortuary, 205 S. 100 E., Brigham City, Utah conducted by Reverend Jerry Hirano, Buddhist Church. Friends may call on Saturday from 10:00 to 10:45 a.m. at the Mortuary. Interment will be in the Brigham City Cemetery.
