Zesta T. Geisler Ziemer Obituary (1913 - 2012)

Zesta T. Geisler Ziemer Fruit Heights - Zesta Afton Taylor Geisler Ziemer, 99, passed away November 18, 2012. Zesta was born August 11, 1913 in Farr West, Utah to Jane Elizabeth (Kinghorn) and Riley Edmund Taylor. She graduated from Weber High School and earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree from Weber State College. She taught English at Ben Lomond High School for 10 years. Zesta married Frank Edward Geisler on April 20, 1932 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple; they were marred 59 years when he died in 1991. She married Charles W. Ziemer April 1, 2004 in the Ogden LDS Temple; he passed away in 2009. She was an active member of the LDS Church. She was a lifetime musician on the piano, organ and also conducted many choruses. She taught piano and organ lessons; she also wrote music. She was the piano accompanist for the International Women's Chorus in 1961. She enjoyed sewing, homemaking, and reading. Zesta is survived by her daughters, Afton Seamons (Bruce) of Burley, ID and Elaine Bagley (Don) of Fruit Heights, UT; brother, Brian Taylor of Farr West, UT; 13 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; 8 great-great-grandchildren; step-son, Charles W. Ziemer Jr, of Peoria, IL; step-daughters, Ann McGregor (Robert) and Shannah Wesemann (Edward) both of Salt Lake City, UT. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husbands; her sister, Lola T. Wells; brother, Nolan R. Taylor and grandson, David Seamons. Funeral services will be held at 1p.m. on Saturday, November 24, 2012 at the Farr West 1st Ward, 1800 West 1800 North. A viewing will be held prior to the service from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Interment, Ben Lomond Cemetery. The family would like to give special thanks to Apple Tree Assisted Living in Kaysville and Simbii Hospice; Jennifer and Sydney Whetman and Colleen Bagley for their devoted care during the last hours of her life.
