Anna Imlay Obituary

Anna Marie (Jenkins) Imlay, returned to her Heavenly Father on January 29, 2024. She was born December 3, 1933, in Los Angeles, California to Francis L. and Marie I. (Madsen) Jenkins. The reunion that she is having with her husband and family can only be imagined, as her mom passed in 1964!

She met and married Bud W. Imlay on December 26, 1951, they were later sealed in the St. George, Utah LDS Temple on June 13, 1964, Bud passed in 2007.

Together they had 5 children, Doreen Ann. (Chuck Logan) Imlay, Francis Dee. (Kum Sun) Imlay, Karen Joann (Merle dec’d) (Randy Aman) Davis, Garland L. (Debbie) Imlay and Francene M. Hadley. She is the grandmother of 15, Great Grandma of 46, and Great, Great Grandma of 8 with 2 on the way. She took in many family members, kid’s friends and even some strangers that needed a place to be into her home and raised them. Many others considered her their Mom, Grandma or Savior, and to them she was their guiding light to their future.

She is preceded in death by her husband Bud, her parents, 2 grandsons, Francis Dee Imlay Jr. (Piston), and Robert (Robbie) Hal Olsen Jr., a son in law Merle Davis, 2 sisters, Betty Jean Gleason, Henrietta (Etta) Archuleta, and 4 brothers, Francis L. Jr (Jinx)., Hans Joseph, William Grant, and Jay, mother and father in-law, Dee L. and Ethel (Ridding) Imlay.

Mom is a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints (LDS). She served in many positions in the Church, with her favorite being Primary Song leader. Mom was mostly a stay-at-home mom and was always there for us kids and grandkids. She loved quilting, making quilts for all her children, and grandchildren for their weddings and for her local LDS ward. She loved to can and bottle fruits and vegetables from her garden and taught her children and grandchildren to do so. Mom Loved the Christmas season and had to have something under the tree for everyone. She loved her farm animals especially her chickens and rabbits. Her favorite cartoon character was the Roadrunner bird. She loved her jewelry with a Roadrunner and even more if it had her birthstone turquoise. She loved visiting with everyone, even with strangers, to just sit and talk, especially late at night with her grandchildren when they were supposed to be in bed even if they had school the next day. As one of her Grandson’s put it, “My Grandma was the most kindest, caring, and giving to us grandkids, but also ruled with an iron fist & a wooden spoon, when we stepped out of line. She is a member of the “Daughters of the Utah Pioneers,” the “Old Ben Camp.” She worked at several fast-food places in California and Utah and baby-sat many children at her home. She worked with the blind as a volunteer in Simi Valley, CA. She lived in California and Utah throughout her life, ending up in Utah to care for her husband Bud until he passed.

A special Thank You to Community Nursing Services and Bristol Hospice for all their care and patience for mom and our family.

She is loved by ALL and will be missed by ALL. We LOVE you MOM, Happy Reunion!
