Obituary

Arnold Fraga
ROY - Arnold Fraga "Our Hero", strong and courageous husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, uncle and friend, passed away in his home surrounded by his wife and children, on January 31, 2011, after a valiant fight against the most horrific disease, cancer.
Arnold was born on December 19, 1941 in Ogden, Utah to Jesus and Eulilia Fraga. He grew up in Ogden and moved to Roy where he has spent the last 40 years loving and raising his wife and family. It was a beautiful day when Arnold married the most beautiful woman, Annie Reyna, on November 8, 1957 and they just celebrated their 53rd wedding anniversary.
Arnold was a member of the Catholic Church. Arnold maintained a career as a warehouse and mill worker early on at Del Monte, Westinghouse, and then at Pillsbury. He retired a few years ago from Skyblue.
Arnold enjoyed life through golfing and bowling. He co-founded the Chicano Golf Association as well as the Chicano Bowling Tournaments and served as Secretary on many bowling leagues, most recently on the Wednesday night mixed league at Sparetime. His passion for bowling helped him get inducted into the Ogden Bowling Association's Hall of Fame. While he enjoyed these pastimes, people were his true passion. He was able to love, welcome and converse with anyone he met.
Arnold is survived by his wife of 53 years, Annie R. Fraga, sons; Andy Fraga (Norma Valdez-Fraga) of Roy, Larry Fraga (Dwayne Atkinson) of Kaysville, Jesse Fraga (Danny Tanner) of Salt Lake, daughter; Lori Freeland (Paul Freeland) of Washington Terrace, grandchildren; AJ Fraga, Shae Fraga, Chelsea, Dakota, and Kayden Freeland and two great-grandsons; Tyrece Holbrook-Fraga and Isaac James Fraga, 5 brothers and 4 sisters.
He was preceded in death by his parents, 2 sisters, and his son James P. Fraga.
Funeral Services will be held Saturday, February 5, 2011, at 11:00 a.m., at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 4050 South 3900 West, West Haven, Utah. A gathering will be held for friends and family on Friday, February 4, 2011, from 6:00– 9:00 p.m., with a Rosary beginning at 6:00 p.m., at Myers Roy Mortuary, 5865 South 1900 West, Roy, Utah.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to Dr. Carl R. Gray Oncology and Hematology, LDS Hospital BMT Clinic, Robert and Amy and the Alpine Hospice Home care staff, Monty Vorwaller at Sparetime, Jeff Rowe at Kent's Market, Lloyd Thomas at Roy Winegar's Pharmacy, The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, and a special thanks to family and friends that went above and beyond to help the immediate family. There will be a memorial account at America First under his name.
