Arthur Homer ‘Bruce’ Devore, transition to a higher calling on February 21st, 2021
He was Born: November 3rd, 1954 Ogden, UT
Bruce Devore lived the majority of his life in Ogden, UT. He was a member of the African Methodist Episcopal Church, where he sang in the youth choir and participated with the youth usher board. He was also an assisted Sunday School teacher. He was part of Utah’s first African American boy scout troop where he became the senior scout leader. Bruce attended Boy’s State. He graduated from Ogden High School where he played football. He furthered his education at Los Angeles Community College where he received his associates degree. He served in the United States Navy, there he received an honorable discharge.
Bruce lived in Denver, CO for many years, where he owned ‘Devore Painting’. He enjoyed being with his family, especially his daughter and grandchildren.
He is survived by his mother, Laura Devore, one brother John Wesley Ranicifer, one daughter Lakesha Turner-Nicks and 3 grandchildren, Edward, Anthony and Daniella. He also has 2 nephews, Carradina and Capt. John Stone and 1 niece Tracy Hundley.
He was preceded in death by his father Roscoe J. Devore and one brother, Eric Dwayne Devore.
Private Family Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, Feb. 25, 2021.
