Barbara Ann Bywater Yamasaki-Stokes

Barbara Ann Yamasaki-Stokes passed away peacefully, February 11, 2023. Barbara was born September 5, 1951, in Brigham City, Utah. She was 71.

She graduated from Box Elder High School with her beloved classmates of 1969. She was freshman class secretary, a Rockette, and a cheerleader and loved every minute of it all.

To the Class of 1969: Barbara loved each of you. She looked forward to each class reunion and gathering. You all held a very special place in her heart. You brought lasting joy to her life.

Barbara married Randy Yosh Yamasaki November 8, 1969, and together they had three children: Brent (Leslie) Yamasaki, Becky Yamasaki (Stephen Roberts), Alisha Yamasaki Barber (Jeremy Barber). Barbara and Randy later divorced. She was the proud grandmother to eight grandchildren: Kambria, Kaylee, Morgan, and Madalyn. Teagan, Gavin, Ethan, and Kohen Barber. And great-grandmother to three great-grandchildren: Harlie, Houston, and Kooper.

Barbara deeply loved her family, her little home, growing a garden, cooking, baking, and canning. She also loved the Box Elder County Fair, Peach Days, and celebrating holidays with her family.

She had a deep love of, devotion to, and faith in her Savior Jesus Christ and His gospel. At age 13 she joined The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Her family would like to thank the many wonderful neighbors and 15th ward members for their love and support. They would also like to thank the many home health care professionals and Valeo Hospice for their exceptional care.

Funeral Services will be held Saturday, February 18, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. at Brigham City 15th Ward Chapel, 203 North 200 West, Brigham City, Utah. Viewings will be held on Friday, February 17, 2023, from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. at Myers Mortuary, 205 South 100 East, Brigham City, Utah, and prior to the Service on Saturday from 10:00 to 10:45 a.m. at the church.
