Betty Madsen Obituary

Betty Lou Madsen, fondly remembered as "beautiful and sweet," passed away on March 16, 2024, just shy of her 90th birthday. Betty was born on March 18, 1934 in Castle Dale, Utah to Sterling and Myrtle Lake Curtis. She later made her home in Perry, Utah. Her life was a testament of love and devotion to her family and friends. Betty's home was always filled with fun, food, laughter, and an abundance of love. She was the fun-loving mom and grandma everyone loved to be with. She never forgot a birthday and loved attending her grandkids' functions. She was known for her listening ear and a giving and loving spirit.

Betty spent her career in sales, working in a bakery where her hard work and dedication were appreciated by many. Despite her busy schedule, Betty always found time for her family. She had a hand in raising a beautiful family, leaving behind a legacy that includes 70 grandkids, 65 great-grandkids, and 4 great-great-grandchildren.

She is survived by her husband James Madsen; daughters Diane Collard, Dena (Greg--deceased) Hawkins, Teresa (Roland--deceased) Collard, Dara Kanehara (Don Sumnnicht), Karen (Will) Farrell, and adopted daughter Joivana (Jordan) Luthi; son Robert (Shannon) Strang.

She was preceded in death by her parents Sterling and Myrtle Lake Curtis, ex-husbands Dan Sherman, Francis Strang, Leonard Stone, her son Raymond Strang, and grandson Taden Morse.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to Rocky Mountain Hospice for their tender loving care and time spent with Betty.
