Betty Mae Wiese

NO. OGDEN – Betty Mae Youker Wiese, 77, died Thursday, November 13, 2003 at her home of natural causes.

She was born May 4, 1926 in Marshalltown, Iowa to Louis and Harriet Lapour Youker. She married Herbert Eugene Wiese on March 10, 1945 in Ogden. He preceded her in death on October 29, 1998.

Betty was a passionate gardener. She was an excellent cook and seamstress. She was an avid Utah Jazz fan and loved animals and bowling. Betty and Herbert spent many happy hours hunting, fishing, traveling and gardening together.

Betty was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, where she was active as a Sunday school teacher.

She had worked as a model at L.R. Samuels Dept. Store, Amalgamated Sugar Company and as office secretary at St. Paul Lutheran Church.

Surviving are two daughters, Cydnee (Gary) Stuart and Deena (Mike) Parker; five grandchildren, Alex (Stacia) Stuart, Aubree Jones, Ashley Stuart, Adam Stuart, and Shaun Parker; two great grandchildren, Leif Jones and Allison Stuart; and her sister-in-law, Sue Wiese.

She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, brother Dale Fouch, and sisters Ione Wagner and Odena Zahnd, and one brother-in-law, Don Wiese.

The family wishes to thank Pastor Gary Trickey, Pete Pedersen, Betty McMahon, Mary and Leonard Dickamore, and the angels from Vista Care.

We rejoice in her promise of eternal life. “Death is but sleeping, why should we weep?” Until we meet again, we love you, your family.

The family suggests memorial contributions be made to St. Paul Lutheran Church.
