Obituary

Betty Ann Hendrickson Seamons

Betty Seamons returned home to her loving Heavenly Father on Friday, May 13, 2022. She was born in Brigham City, UT, on April 7, 1936, to Alven Nephi and Hazel Bodel Rasmussen Hendrickson.

Betty attended Utah State Agricultural College and earned her bachelor’s degree from Utah State University in 3 years. Following graduation, she moved to Salt Lake City, UT, to teach the 4th grade from 1958 - 1959.

She married the love of her life, Ronald Devar Seamons in the Logan, Utah Temple, in 1959. They resided in Brigham City, UT, then moved to Apple Valley, MN, to follow her husband’s work. Two years later, she moved back to Brigham City, UT, to be by family and then settled in Honeyville, UT, over 40 years ago. They were married for 62 wonderful years.

Betty is a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints where she served in several callings, but was always a master teacher.  She was an avid family history genealogist.  She has a deep and abiding testimony of Jesus Christ.

She was a Daycare teacher from 1990 – 1999, and a preschool teacher from 2000 – 2018.

In her youth, her father introduced Betty to horses, she quickly developed a deep love for this amazing animal. She often accompanied her husband Ron and son Ronnie while they were showing the family horses. Betty, Ron, and Ronnie rode and enjoyed the horses together.  Betty enjoyed being surrounded by her family. Her hobbies included writing, poetry, painting, assembling puzzles, quilting, and crocheting.

The family would like to give a special thanks to nephew, Kenny Ritchie, for his help and support; Jeff and Kris Clydesdale for their support and concern, Dale Millsap for all his help, Patrice Miller for all her help and support, and all others who helped us in our mother’s time of illness.

She is survived by her dear husband, Ronald; children: Judith Seamons, Ronald H. (Kelly) Seamons, Janice Seamons, Susan Seamons, David H. (Lindaci) Seamons; siblings: Judy (Von) Ritchie and Dale (Loila) Hendrickson; sister-in-law: Bette Ann Hendrickson; 3 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild.

Betty was preceded in death by her parents: Alven and Hazel Hendrickson; and brother: Alven Markward Hendrickson.
