Beverly Alice Saville Montgomery

Beverly Alice Saville Grow Montgomery “our Granny Goose”, 87, passed away at the home of one of her daughters, January 9, 2004 of natural causes, surrounded by her children. She was born August 7, 1917 in Salt Lake City, the daughter of Harry Martin Saville and Alice Christina Jensen.

On November 15, 1935 she married Eldon Arthur Grow in the Salt Lake Temple. Eldon passed away July 3, 1941. On December 10, 1943 she married Leland James Montgomery. He passed away August 15, 1972.

She was a faithful member of the Middle Fork Ward of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints where she enjoyed serving in many callings in the auxiliaries of the church.

She was a volunteer for McKay-Dee Hospital until November of 2003, after 33 years. She was also a member of the American Business Women’s Association. For 25 years she was a member of the Wildcat Club of Weber State University and a Judge of Elections for several years. Granny was always busy with her hands making many gifts for her friends and family.

She is survived by her 11 children; Jean Wangsgard, Elenore (Raymond) Jones, Norman (Joyce) Montgomery, Charlene Grover, LeeAnn (Mark) Fuller, Anita (Glaydon) Ferrin, Judy (Bob) Poll, Fran (John) Oliver, Neva (Ross) Wangsgard, Rhea (Bryan) Schade, Dennis (Kathy) Montgomery. She is also survived by 51 grandchildren, 170 great-grandchildren, 34 great-great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-great-grandchildren. She is survived by a sister, Marjorie Brunker, her April Sister, Lorie Fuerst and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husbands, parents, brothers Virgil and Marvin, sisters Violet and Roma, two grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

The family would like to thank the faithful home teachers and visiting teachers for their diligent and caring visits. Thank you to Dr. Glen Biddulph, McKay-Dee Hospital staff and volunteers, the I.H.C. Hospice Team for their wonderful service to her.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations can be made to the McKay-Dee Hospital Foundation or the Ogden Valley Library.
