Bonnie R Christian

Bonnie R. Byrne Christian, loving mother and grandma, returned home to be with the Lord on June 6, 2021.

She was born on November 2, 1938, in Ogden, Utah, a daughter of John and Ada Wilson Byrne.

She married Philip “Chris” Gary Christian in 1967 and their marriage was blessed with three children.  Bonnie and Chris were also foster parents.  Chris died on August 8, 2009.

She was a devoted Baptist with a strong faith in the Lord.  Their home was a welcome place to many foster children (Trudy Eddy), family members, friends, and anyone in need.

She loved hunting, channel cat fishing, camping, bowling, playing cards, slot machines, metal detecting and ghost town hunting.  She also had a passion for gardening, digging for old bottles and other treasures at old dump sites and kept an immaculate yard.

Bonnie and Chris owned and operated Tobacco Road Pipe Shop in the 1970’s in downtown Ogden.  She also worked at Ogden Poultry, Model Linen, Cutters Lab, Moller Up Moving, Stevens Cannery, and retired after 20 years of service driving a bus for Davis County School District.

She is survived by three children; Darlene (Lee) Hold, Russell Christian and Cheryl (Mac) Evans, many cherished grandchildren, great-grandchildren, sisters; Ada “Teeny” Wise, Pat Edwards, brothers; James “Tuff” and Lewis Byrne, and special friends Pat and Karen Hillaker.

She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, a granddaughter, three sisters and a brother.

Funeral services will be held at 11 am on Friday, June 11, 2021, at Myers Mortuary, 845 Washington Blvd., Ogden, UT.  A viewing will be held on Thursday from 6-8 pm and Friday prior to services from 9:40-10:40 am.  Interment will be at Evergreen Memorial Park, 100 N Monroe Blvd, Ogden, UT

There will be time for family and friends to share memories of Bonnie during the funeral service, or if you would like a memory read for you please bring it written to be shared on your behalf.
