Carmella Castaneda

OGDEN – Carmella Niccoli Castaneda, 84, passed away peacefully May 13, 2005, at Crestwood Care Center in Ogden, Utah.

Carmen was born November 7, 1921 in Hastings, Colorado. She was the youngest of 12 children born to MaryAnn and Joseph Anthony Niccoli.

Carmen attended Trinidad High School in Colorado and from there went on to graduate from Trinidad Beauty College.

In early 1940, she met and married Frelen Wright, and together the couple had six children. Following the death of two husbands, she moved to Pueblo, Colorado where she rebuilt her life and resided for over 40 years. She was active in a sewing circle; she loved doing crossword puzzles, crocheting, ceramics, and helping her neighbors.

Carmen moved to Ogden, in November 2002. She was baptized into the LDS Church in March of the following year.

She was preceded in death by her parents, 10 brothers and sisters, two husbands, and one son, Gary Wright.

She is survived by three daughters and spouses, Mamie Gleaves, Ogden; and Don Gleaves, Sharon Gallas, Pittsburg; Judy and Mark Morrow, Oregon; two sons, Robert and Joetta Wright, Florida; Jake Wright, California; five grandchildren, Kevin and Wendi Gleaves, Ogden; Heather and Greg Warren, Laramie; Jeremy Mosure, Florida; Jolene Mosure, Oregon; Robbi Wright, California; Celeste Wright, California; Tammy Taylor, Tennessee; Robert Wright, Jr., Florida; and nine great grandchildren.

We will remember our Mother as a righteous person with a fun spirit and an abundance of love and kindness in her heart.
