Carol Joyce Stark

ROY - Carol Joyce Terry Stark, 87, surrounded by her loving family, returned to her Father in Heaven on Saturday, May 6, 2023 from advanced age.

Carol was born December 25, 1935 in Ogden, Utah to Raymond and Stella Terry, she was their "Christmas Carol" baby. She married the love of her life, George John Stark, on November 10, 1961 in the Logan Temple. George preceded her in death in 2008.

Carol adored her family and felt there was nothing better then spending time with her husband and kids. She was a great cook. Her family especially enjoyed baking days. Carol also loved to spend time at her sewing machine. In her later years she spent countless hours making hundreds of baby blankets to give away to others. She was an avid knitter and crocheter, in the past few years she made beautiful crocheted snowflakes.

Carol was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, serving in various organizations. Her life was a living example of the verse in Ephesians 4:32 — “And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ's sake hath forgiven you."

Carol is survived by her five daughters and their spouses Susan (Cary) Mecham, Sherie (Brad) Pankalla, Julie (Cameron) John, Patti (Robert) Taylor and Terri Stark, 19 grandchildren and many great grandchildren.; two wonderful sisters Elaine Johnson and Jeanette Matis: sister-in-laws Kathryn Stark and Joan Terry; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and her 5 brothers.

Please join us in celebrating her life. Funeral services will be held Saturday, May 13, 2023 at 11:00 am in the Roy 2nd Ward Chapel, 5127 South 2400 West. Family will greet friends on Friday, May 12, 2023 from 6:00-8:00 pm at Myers Roy Mortuary, 5865 S. 1900 W. and from 10:00 -10:45 am at the church prior to services. Interment, Roy City Cemetery.
