Obituary

Christian Lyal "FOX" Larsen

Our beloved Christian Lyal Larsen left for a new mission on June 30, 2013. Born May 14, 1984, Fox made an impression and impact wherever he went. The letters on his business card read: RN, CPRN, CEN, NREMT-P, FP-C, but that's only part of the story.
A graduate of Weber State University and others, Fox worked at Intermountain Behavioral Health, Intermountain Health Care in Ogden, Intermountain Medical Center in Murray, and Guardian Flight in Rock Springs.

Christian "Fox" Larsen enlisted in the Utah National Guard on 13 July 2001 as a Combat Medic and over the years served with: the 19th Special Forces Group; the HHC 2-211th General Support Aviation Battalion; the 144th Medical Company; and most recently Charlie Company, Detachment 2, 1-171st Aviation Regiment (Air Ambulance) as a Platoon Sergeant and the Senior Flight Medic. He was the first member assigned to the MEDEVAC Detachment prior to the Unit officially standing up and was critical to the Commander and Leadership in providing his expertise as the Unit transformed from Air Assault to Air Ambulance in his roles as both a Non-commissioned Officer (NCO) and medical subject matter expert.

More than the many hats he wore professionally, Fox was a poetic adventurer who loved rock climbing, repelling from choppers, jumping out of airplanes, traveling all over the world and making waves. He loved his family and many close friends, and he showed that love by pushing them to be their best the same way he pushed himself. We who knew him best are, even now, just realizing the reach his life had and how many lives he has touched.

During his deployment with the Ghostrider Taskforce, it was Fox's love and caring nature that started the Utah Non-Profit, Operation Adopt a Ghost, Utah Soldier Support, and he was involved in numerous other charities and humanitarian organizations.

He is survived by his parents, Steven Lyal Larsen and Linda Larsen; two sisters, Stefanie (and Tom) Tracy of Ogden, and Frieda (and Eric) Taylor of Sugarhouse; brother, Tyson Larsen; and two nephews, Zane and Owen Tracy.

Medic, battle-buddy, son, brother, uncle, friend, mentor, explorer, philosopher, investigator, incurable romantic, all 'round wonderful guy and Super Hero! We're going to miss you more than you could have ever imagined.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, July 8, 2013 at the Ogden Myers Mortuary, 845 Washington Blvd. A viewing will be held on Sunday, July 7, 2013 from 6 to 8 p.m. and prior to services from 12:40 to 1:40 p.m. Interment, Evergreen Memorial Park.
