David E. Shurtz


Farmington – David E. Shurtz, 66, our beloved husband, father, brother, grandfather and friend passed away on Tuesday, March 6, 2007 at his home surrounded by his family, after a long battle with cancer.

He was born June 28, 1940 in Sacramento, California, to William E. and AnnaBelle Lewis Shurtz. David was a veteran that served in the U.S. Air Force. He married Kathy Stoff on September 24, 1994 and was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. David worked at Parker Hannifin as a Quality Engineer for the last eight years.

He is survived by his wife Kathy S. Shurtz, his children: David E. Shurtz, Jr.; Lynn Michelle Shurtz; Channon Shurtz (Leland) Roundy; Tansley (Kim) Shurtz; stepsons, Mark (Loye) West; Todd (Chris) West; Charlie Naccarato and Pacer Beechel. Also surviving are his brothers and sisters: J. Gregory (Janice) Brown; Donelle Brown Hepworth; Kathleen Brown (Ron) Andersen; Chad L. (Regina) Brown; 13 grandchildren and the family pet King Kako Shurtz.

David is preceded in death by his parents Donald L. and AnnaBelle Brown and William E. Shurtz, and his daughter Shelby Ann Shurtz Gregory.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 10, 2007 at 11 a.m. at the Farmington Oakridge Stake Center at 1988 South 350 East. Family and friends may call on Friday at Myers Mortuary in Roy, from 6 to 8 p.m., at 5865 South 1900 West. Interment, Roy City Cemetery.
