Donna Bruderer Obituary

Donna Andrus Bruderer, 92, passed away Sunday, January 12, 2020 with the comfort of her loving family around her.

Donna was born on July 14, 1927 in Richmond, Utah to Gerald and Ida Andrus. She married Leonard Bruderer on December 22, 1942 in the Logan LDS Temple. Donna was a loving and supportive wife to Leonard and was always by his side until the day he passed away in 2006.

Donna was a great outdoorsman in her own right and when it came to hunting and fishing, she gave the men a run for their money. She was also very much a lady and cooked amazing meals with the meat from hunting and fishing while keeping her home beautiful and clean. She was a great seamstress and created a variety of clothing for her family, especially at Christmas and Easter time.

Donna won many Blue Ribbons and honor awards for her talent of crocheting and knitting. She made doilies, afghans quilt sand toys for all of her posterity. The highlight of her crocheting was a full-length bedspread. Among her final crocheting achievements, Donna created two incredible altar covers for the Brigham City Temple.

Donna was a lifelong and committed visiting teacher for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints who always compassionately helped her friends and neighbors. She worked for the Del Monte Company in Smithfield while raising her family and later worked at the Brigham City Sportswear Company making leather coats and pants like John Wayne used to wear. Donna was also a dedicated employee at the DDO in Ogden prior to her retirement.

Donna’s surviving children are Barbara Ann (Robert) Seegmiller, Gwen (Lloyd) Scothern and Lola Wilkes. Her son Steven died in the Vietnam War in 1967. She has 16 grandchildren, and many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

Waiting for her in Heaven are her husband Leonard, her son Steven, her parents and her sister Verda Peterson McCulley.
