Donna May Gibbs Willard, 82, passed away peacefully at her home in Harrisville Utah. She was the daughter of Vernor F. Gibbs and Carrie May Canfield of Ogden, Utah. She attended Ogden City Schools, graduating from Ogden High School in 1954. She earned an A.S. degree in Business from Weber State College in 1956. Donna loved her social life in school and made life-long friends! She married her sweetheart Sherman Earl Willard on September 19, 1958 in the Salt Lake City temple. They celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary this past September. The couple made their home in Ogden Utah, where they raised 6 wonderful children. Donna’s foremost passion in life was being a wife, mother and grandmother. She loved family gatherings and would throw parties to celebrate just about any occasion. Donna was a devout member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, serving selflessly in many callings. Some of her favorite things were the color blue, playing the piano, traveling and camping with family, scrapbooking, and the primary song ‘Little Purple Pansies’. She sold Avon for 20 years, receiving 19 Presidential Awards. She loved to visit and socialize with everyone she met. She always had a smile on her face and was a perfect example of being happy in spite of dealing with overwhelming physical trials in her later years. She was thankful for the many friends and family who faithfully visited her through the past few years as her condition caused her to be bed-ridden most of the time. She was extremely grateful for the services provided the past 18 months by Tender Care Hospice. The family would especially like to thank Amber, Carolyn, Debbie, Amy and others who took wonderful care of mom. We would also like to thank our dear friend Beth Fleming for the many hours of service she gave to mom. She is survived by her loving and devoted husband Sherman, her sister Janet (Brent) Bair of South Ogden, her six children Jodi (Barry) Lund, Layton, Pam (Kent) Frecker, Dillon, MT, Mark G. Willard, Brigham City, Nancy Willard, North Ogden, Gina Backman, Brigham City, and Jenny Durrant, Pleasant View. She is also survived by 19 grandchildren, and 18 great-grandchildren, whom she loved dearly. She was proceeded in death by her parents, and a sister, Sharol Taylor. We the children would like to acknowledge and thank our father for the many years of tender care he provided to mom as her health and abilities declined. We love you dad! A viewing will be held on Friday, January 11th from 6-8 pm at Myer’s Mortuary located at 845 Washington Blvd. Ogden, Utah, and also just prior to the Funeral services, which will be held on Saturday, January 12th at 11:00am at the Harrisville Stake Center located at 1560 N. 200 W.
