OGDEN - Ellen LaPray Stith, 94, passed away September 1, 2011 at Mt Ogden Health and Rehabilitation Center. Ellen was born May 24, 1917 in Weston, Idaho, the sixth of seven daughters to John David LaPray and Susan Arnetta Robbins.

Mom was raised in Weston, later moving to Tremonton in her senior year of high school, graduating from Bear River High. The family moved to Ogden and mom worked for the Union Pacific Railroad laundry. She was asked to become a majorette with the Union Pacific Marching Band, marching in many parades around the country.

Mom married John William Stith on May 13, 1943 in Louisville, Kentucky. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Ogden LDS Temple.

Mom worked for 23 years in the lunchroom at Hillcrest Elementary, many of those years as lunch manager. She was an active member or the LDS Church, many years as a visiting teacher and various other positions. Ellen loved to play and watch golf, spending time at her sister Mary's cabin, chocolate, Diet Coke and spending time with her family.

Ellen is survived by two children, Karen Bjerke (Rick) of North Ogden and James Lee Stith (Lynn) of Scottsdale, Arizona, five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, six sisters, one brother and her husband, Jack.

The family would like to express their thanks to Dustie Burnett, Dr. Qader, the staffs at Mt Ogden Health and Rehabilitation and Applegate Hospice.
