Ellen W Petersen, 89, graduated on Wednesday, September 5, 2018, at her son’s home in Honeyville Utah, with her family by her side.
Ellen was born on May 20, 1929 in Gardner, Worcester, Massachusetts daughter of Mary Elizabeth Barrett and Sidney Aaron Waite.

She joined the Church of Jesus Christ of latter day Saints when she was 18. She had a strong testimony and shared in most recently, last Saturday at her great granddaughters baptism in Eagle Mountain.
Ellen moved to Utah in 1948, to attend BYU. She met and married her best friend, Rex H Petersen on March 27, 1950 in the Salt Lake Temple.
She served many callings in the church, her most favorite being in Scouting.
She loved genealogy, traveling, name extraction and her family.
Ellen and Rex served a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of latter day Saints, to Fresno, California, Hmong people. They had been fruit and dairy farmers in Orem prior to moving to Honeyville. Mom loved her rides with her son Dan, and every party was a party for grandma.
Surviving are her children: John H Petersen, Hyrum: Carma P (Danny) Dunsmore of Nevada and Dan (Christie) Petersen of Honeyville; 9 beautiful grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-granddaughter; siblings: Clara W Robison and Sidney Waite Jr.
Proceeded in death by her husband Rex, daughter Rose Middlestat and daughter in law Christina C. Petersen.

Her son Dan for taking care of her since 1992, when Rex passed away.
Funeral services will be Wednesday, September 12, 2018 at 11:00 am at the Honeyville 1st Ward Chapel, 2620 W. 6980 N. Honeyville UT. Viewings will be Tuesday from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at Myers Mortuary, 205 S. 100 E, Brigham City, UT, and Wednesday from 10:00 to 10:40 am at the Church. Interment will be at the Honeyville Cemetery.
