Emmett "Jack" Deegan, born on December 19, 1948, in Greeley, Colorado, graced this world with his humble and thoughtful presence until September 8, 2023. Jack, as he was affectionately known, dedicated his life to always putting others' needs before his own to ensure everyone around him was taken care of.
Jack graduated from Ben Lomand High School in 1967 and continued on to have a decorated career with the IRS spanning over 42 years until his retirement in 2012. During his career he became a cherished friend to many and was recognized with several special achievement awards and customer service recognitions.
In his retirement years, Jack devoted his time to his passions, which included watching NASCAR and Indy car races, attending almost every car show and monster truck rally he could find, and spending time with his children and grandchildren.
Jack is survived by his children, Jacob Deegan, Josh Robins, and Jennaca (Danny) Green; his sisters, Carol Saltzman, and Peggy Deegan; his grandchildren, Hudson Deegan, Jackson Green, Braxton Green, and Layloni Green; his nephew, Shepard Saltzman; and his beloved granddog, Bailey. He is preceded in death by his parents, Emmett "Bud" and Clara Deegan.
Funeral services will be Saturday, September 16, 2023, 11:00 a.m. Friends and family are invited to visit prior to services 10:00 AM - 10:45 AM and Friday 6-8 PM at Myers Mortuary, 845 Washington Boulevard, Ogden, Utah. Interment following at Ogden City Cemetery, 1875 Monroe Blvd, Ogden, UT 84401, and lunch at 2:00 PM at his car show friend’s longtime meeting spot, Warrens, 3955 Riverdale Rd, Ogden, UT 84405.
