Eugene Alpha Garner, of Ogden, Utah, was born to Ada and Alpha Garner on December 17, 1926 in Sunset, Utah. Eugene passed away peacefully on Friday, March 22, 2019 at the age of 92, leaving behind a legacy of being a wonderful and loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. Gene was in the Navy serving in World War 2 and the Korean War. He was honorably discharged on July 10, 1954 as a Metal Smith, 3rd class. Gene was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the Mound Fort 2nd Ward. He served in various callings such as High Councilman, State Executive Secretary, as well as serving in the Bishopric. Gene worked at Defense Depot Ogden as a welder until his retirement. He married Renae Firth on November 21, 1962 at the Logan Utah Temple. Gene is proceeded in death by his wife, Renae, his parents, and his 3 brothers, Don, Blaine, and Jack Garner. He is survived by his 7 children, Genice Petty, Keri Fullmer, Cindy Bailey, Joe Garner, Gena Garner-Wayman, Phillip Garner and Steve Garner as well as his 15 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

There will be private family viewing on Tuesday March 26, 2019 followed by a Graveside Service at 1:30 at Aultorest Memorial Park at 836 36th Street in Ogden, Utah. Military Honors will be accorded by U.S Navy Honor Guard and VFW Post 1481.
