Flora Montoya passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family, in Ogden, on June 2, 2021, at the age of 88.
Born in Chama, New Mexico, Flora was the generous, giving and loving mother of six children and was also a big Utah Jazz fan; especially MVP John Stockton. She also loved the outdoors, music by Al Hurricane and road trips to Wendover. Flora’s last sing along was to the song “Que Sera Sera” by Doris Day.
Flora is preceded in death by her husband of three years, Rafael Gallegos, as well as her husband of thirty-nine years, Rosenaldo Montoya. She is also preceded in death by her daughter, Tonya Gallegos and grandson Nino Gallegos.
She leaves behind her son, Rafael (Gloria) Gallegos of West Haven, Utah, son, John Montoya of Ogden, Utah, daughter, Margie (Robert) Colyer of Las Vegas, Nevada, daughter Angie Martinez of Ogden, Utah, and son Larry Montoya of Pleasant View, Utah. In addition, she is survived by nine grandchildren and many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 4050 S 3900 W, West Haven, UT, on Monday, June 7, 2021, at 10:00 a.m., with burial following at Evergreen Cemetery. At the request of the family the visitation for Flora will be private.
