General Poston was born in Jacksonville, FL. On Sept. 16, 1925. He passed away peacefully the night of Nov. 18, 2016.

Freddie was devoted to his family and friends who will always remember his kindness and southern charm.

He was also devoted to his country and served 35 years in the USAF and was the recipient of countless honors and medals including the Distinguished Service Medal; Silver Star; Legion of Merit with oak leaf cluster; Distinguished Flying Cross with oak leaf cluster; Bronze Star Medal; Air Medal with 14 oak leaf clusters; and the Air Force Commendation Medal with three oak leaf clusters.

His acts of courage and bravery were often overshadowed by his quiet humbleness.

He is survived by his wife, Joan; his children and grandchildren all of whom were his true joys in life.

A Remembrance Memorial Service will be held at Myers Mortuary, 845 Washington Blvd., Ogden, on Friday, December 2, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. Military Honors will be accorded at the Ben Lomond Cemetery immediately following services.
