Galveston Sonny Scott

ROY—Galveston Sonny Scott, age 57, passed away on May 25, 2002, at Ogden Regional Medical Center. He was born on September 5, 1944 in Texarkana, Texas, to George Scott and Jessie Ann Richard.

Sonny married Annette Mason in Wendover, Utah. They were later divorced.

He was a member of the Griffin Memorial Church. He enjoyed dominoes, chess, fishing, traveling and loved his blues and jazz. He worked as a counselor at Clearfield Job Corps, as a welder at Jetway, a sheet metal specialist in San Francisco, California, and as an asbestos abatement specialist.

Sonny is survived by his mother, Jessie Anderson; and his children, Allen (Sheryl) Scott of Roy; Shavell (David Sr.) Brown of Aurora, Colorado; Darlene House of Layton; Paula Scott of Layton; Tre Xavier Jones Scott of Ogden; and Paige Scott of Riverdale. Also surviving are his siblings, George (Marvine) Scott Jr. of Ogden; Sylvester Scott of Ogden; Donald (Brenda) Scott of Washington Terrace; Bennie Hopkins of California; Darletha (Albert) Scott of Ogden; nine grandchildren; five great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. He will be greatly missed by many family and friends.

Sonny was preceded in death by his father, George Scott Sr., father, Ivory Anderson, one granddaughter, Lakisha Holston, two sisters, Christa Bell Scott, Ella Satterwhite Scott, and one brother, Jessie Scott.
