Gaylene Thurgood Hancock
Gaylene Thurgood Hancock passed away surrounded by her children on July 15, 2021 at her home in West Haven, Utah, after a courageous battle with cancer.
Gaylene was born March 29, 1960 to John and Carma (Martin)Thurgood. She grew up in West Point, Utah where she enjoyed playing on the family farm. She married the love of her life, Danny Ray Hancock on December 7, 1981. Together they had Brant and Cole. Gaylene loved being a mom, though she adored being a grandmother the most. She often said her four grandchildren were little rays of sunshine. Gaylene was full of life. She had a way about her, that made anyone feel welcome. She loved the Denver Broncos, a good camping trip, playing cards till wee hours of the night, lunch and dinner dates with friends and family. She loved to go shopping with Breclynn and taught her about the finer things in life. She enjoyed teaching her grandsons to play poker, and was always surprised when they won. Gracie was her side kick and she enjoyed playing kitchen and going on walks.
Gaylene is survived by; her sons Brant (Sara), and Cole, her four grandchildren, Breclynn, Carson, Blake, and Gracie. Her siblings John Thurgood, Becky (James) Stephens, and Lori Davis.
She is proceeded in death by her husband Danny, her mom, dad, brother Mike Thurgood, Aunt Diane Sieber.
Viewing will be held Tuesday July 20, 2021 8:45 AM to 10:15 AM at Myers Mortuary 5865 South 1900 West, Roy, Utah. With a graveside following at West Point cemetery at 11:00 AM
