Genoveva A. Hernandez, 84, passed away peacefully June 9, 2022 in Ogden, Utah. She was born March 28, 1938 in Eagle Lake, Texas to Jose and Tomasa Alvarado. She was raised in Texas with 5 brothers and 3 sisters.
Genoveva married Candelario Hernandez on January 13, 1956 in Casa Grande, Arizona. They later settled in Ogden, Utah. Genoveva is the mother of 6 children; 3 stepchildren; and many grandchildren.
Genoveva was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church. She liked cooking, dancing, sewing and also enjoyed shopping and playing loteria with her family. Most of all she enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great, great grandchildren.
Genoveva is survived by her children, Juan Hernandez, Pedro (Alicia) Hernandez, Miguel (Maria) Hernandez, Rosario (Ignacio Jr.) Solis, Elvia (Justin) Clark, Noel (Valerie) Hernandez; her stepson Manuel Hernandez; her siblings Beatrice Rico, Joe Alvarado, Juana Hernandez, Carmen Zavaka. She is also survived by 37 grandchildren, many great grandchildren, and many great, great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, two stepchildren, four grandchildren and 4 brothers.
A Rosary Viewing will be held Wednesday, June 15, 2022 from 6-8 pm at Myers Mortuary, 845 Washington Blvd, Ogden, UT. A Funeral Mass will be held Thursday, June 16, 2022, at 11 am at St. Mary’s, 4050 S 3900 W, West Haven, UT.
