Gertrude "Trudy" Esplin Obituary

Trudy returned to her Heavenly Father. She was loved for her sense of humor. She was born in Darmstadt, Germany, to Anna Lohfink and Hans Ruebeck. Trudy married Paul Allen Esplin (Ret. Air Force) on December 27,1957, and enjoyed nearly 50 years of marriage together. While in the military they were stationed throughout the world in Germany, Utah, California, Colorado, Spain, (on the Bravo Murillo), and were blessed with a son Allen and daughter Linda while in Colorado. While living in Salt Lake City, Trudy worked for the Hilton hotel for 5 years in housekeeping, a job she very much enjoyed. Upon retiring from the military, Paul & Trudy returned to Utah, enjoying the State she fell in love with and Paul was born in. They settled in Brigham City in 1981, where Paul began working for Morton-Thiokol. For the 40 years she lived in Brigham City she enjoyed walking all over town, and riding the bus with her shopping cart. Her Family would like to give a Very Special Thank You to Dave & Marlese Madsen (conservators), as well as all the Staff at The Beehive Assisted Living in Perry throughout the 6 1/2 years while there, with a very heartfelt thanks to Martha and Susanne. Also, a special thanks to Encompass for their loving care during the last months of her life. Trudy is survived by her younger brother Hans, cousin Ludwig, son; Allen, daughter; Linda (Detlev) Brandt and many nieces and nephews.
