Gordon Ardell Barnes

Left this life on May 14, 2023 to join the love of his life Mary Lois Mason Barnes, who preceded him in death in 2010. He was born November 27, 1935.

Gordon was a fine, hard-working man, who served his country as a guardsman, and worked for Union Pacific where he gained his love of trains, second only to his wife, children, and grandchildren".

Gordon worked many years for IML Freight and a number of years as a coal miner. He was very proud of the fact that he also worked many years cleaning seminary buildings after his retirement from the Teamsters.

Gordon is survived by eight children, Cindie (Bruce) Dodendier, Russell Barnes, Kerrie (Chris) Sine, Tim (Jackie) Hunt, Brenda Barnes, Robert (Melisa) Barnes, Michele (Beth) Mecque, Alan (Briana Saunders) Barnes, 36 GRANDCHILDREN, 38 GREAT-GRANDCHILDREN.

He will be greatly missed as he was admired in life. By his many family members, friends, and acquaintances who lovingly called him Grandpa....

Funeral Services will be held Friday, May 19, 2023 12:00 PM with a viewing prior at 10:00 – 11:30 AM at Myers Mortuary, 5865 South 1900 West, Roy, Utah
