Harold Lamond Morrill

October 6, 1942 - May 9, 2019

Harold L. Morrill completed his earthly ministry on his dad’s birthday, surrounded by family, after an extended illness. Born on October 6, 1942, in Vernal, Utah, he was one of six children born to Charles Ellis Morrill and Martha Lamoreaux.

Harold grew up in Tridell, Utah. Upon graduating from Union High School, he served a Central States Mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. After his mission, he graduated from Brigham Young University with a bachelor’s degree, and went on to earn a Master’s of Social Work from the University of Utah. He remained a lifelong member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, serving in various ward and stake callings.

After a previous marriage and seven children, he married Ruth Ann Carver on June 4, 1996, in the Ogden LDS Temple, and acquired six more children. He was a devoted husband, incredible father and grandfather; he will be greatly missed.

Harold worked hard to establish the Weber Human Services Program and was the director for over 20 years. He worked closely with the Utah State Legislature to help establish policies for mental health, aging, and addiction programs.

Harold is survived by his wife Ruth Ann, Morrill Children: Lisa Fowers (Kirk), Heidi Trujillo, Kristin Brophy (Jason), Holly Bird (Dan), David (Derolene), Jordan (Karen); and Agren Children: Andy (Jen), John (Kathryn), Mark (Kristina), Nate (Dawn), Jenny Dandoy (Matt), and Annette Deru (Jason), and numerous grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Wes and Marion, sister Marta Tullis, and son Kenny Morrill.

We would like to thank the incredible people from Legacy Healthcare (especially Nurse Meghan and Bath Lady Ashlie), Dr. Trevor Squire, Stewart Rehab Center, and Randy Erickson with Wasatch Peak Physical Therapy.

Funeral services will be held at the Chateau Park Ward, 5930 South 2200 West, Roy, on Saturday, May 18, at 11 a.m. A viewing will be at Myers Mortuary in Roy, 5865 South 1900 West, on Friday, May 17, from 6-8 p.m. as well as the morning of the funeral from 9:45-10:45 a.m. at the Chateau Park Ward.
