Harper Jeppsen Obituary

Harper N. Jeppsen of Brigham passed peacefully from this life on Monday, June 5, 2023. He was born August 2, 1929 in Brigham City, Utah to William Wallace and Ethel Brunker Jeppesen. Harper spent his childhood growing up in Mantua, Utah. He attended elementary school in the little old schoolhouse in Mantua. Harper attended Box Elder High School where he participated in football and was part of the team that took state his junior and senior year graduating in 1947.

Harper joined the army following graduation serving active duty at Fort Lewis in Washington from 1947-1949, followed by 6 years in the National Guard.

Harper married Donnell Jean Jorgensen in the Salt Lake City Temple on September 16, 1949. Together they raised 5 children.

Harper worked very hard in various jobs throughout his life, first, as a milkman, later as a mechanic at Hill Air Force Base, finishing a career of 32 years at Thiokol Corporation as an electronic technician and retiring in 1990 as a tool engineer.

Harper had a deep abiding love for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Harper served in various Bishoprics, as counselor and/or membership clerk. He served as a Branch President at Pioneer Nursing Home. Harper and Donnell faithfully served in the Ogden Temple and a mission for the Church at the membership location office in Salt Lake City Utah. Harper loved to serve anyone who was in need and was always there to make their life simpler.

The family would like to give a special thanks to Symbii Hospice and the Gables Assisted Living for their loving care and kindness.

He is survived by his 5 children: Kim (Ann) Jeppsen, Kevin (Teresa) Jeppsen, Vickie (David) Lang, Phil (Beth) Jeppsen, and Todd (Charisse) Jeppsen; 28 grandchildren, 75 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren; sister Lillis Mae Tonks; brother Gary Norton Jeppesen; sisters-in-law: Lois Williams, Geraldine Jorgensen, and Shonna Dawson.

Harper was preceded in death by his loving wife Donnell Jean Jorgensen and his parents and siblings: Wallace Boyd, Rex Brunker, Marjorie, Daryl Dean, Richard Nephi, and George Ellis Jeppsen.

Private family services will be held under the direction of Myers Mortuary in Brigham City, Utah.
